City Monster

This time I thought I'd try out something I'd never done before.... Creating a monster design of my own... It took some experimentation, but in the end it was quite fun coming up with a mash up of designs I really liked. Originally, the idea wast to create a contrast, presenting a monster in a lighthearted manner, or a setting that would contradict the existence of the monster (eg, in a suburban neighborhood).
With this theme in mind, Moragot and I decided to try it out. My idea developed, however, with the monster's appearance being quite angry/frightening, I changed the setting to still include a pet, but in a darker and scarier setting... the dingy streets of a city.

 I'm a big fan of Portal. Getting back into digital sketching seemed like the perfect opportunity to do some fan art. I'm still using the 'Procreate' app on my iPad, which has a nifty new feature which automatically records a Timelapse of your drawing.

So here I present the final picture and its timelapse. Hope you enjoy!!

Sentries and Soldiers

Mo and I decided to take kitbashing to a whole new level!
Buying model parts ranging from tanks and planes, to ships and podracers, we assembled them all to create our very own robots.

We were invited to feature our models on the Nuthin' but Mech website here:

Final kitbashed models would be coated in one layer of silver paint, and then a layer of white base paint.

Back after 8 years: A study of Mo

It's been a long time since I've been submersed in art. 8 years roughly...
Being surrounded by creative people has helped spark the desire to create again, and to get into it, I have started with some digital art done on my iPad.

Using an app called "Procreate", I was able to get back into sketching and practising my line work. With some helpful hints from Mo, this is what was born :)
